What does inclusive research mean?

Inclusive research is often at the heart of inclusive design. According to Nielsen Norman, inclusive design describes methodologies to create products that understand and enable people of all backgrounds and abilities. Inclusive design may address accessibility, age, culture, economic situation, education, gender, geographic location, language, and ethnicity.


However, creating inclusive designs is difficult as you don’t know what you don’t know. It’s hard to imagine what the effects of age can be if you’ve grown up in the digital age or what truly is the impact of a disability on the use of a smartphone.
